Zakharova said about potential violent conflict around North Korea
Official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said about the very high risk military solution to the situation around the DPRK. She reported about it in interview to the program “Sunday evening” on TV channel “Russia 1”.
“How close the situation… Yes, she came very close to the potential power of conflict,” Zakharova said in response to the question of how the crisis over North Korea approached the “military line”.
On the eve of the US President Donald trump in an interview with the President of France Emmanuel Macron said the United States and its allies are ready to take “military, diplomatic and economic measures” against the DPRK. Also, the American leader confirmed the US intention to stop the “nuclear threat of the DPRK”.
Earlier, on August 9, representatives of the strategic forces of the North Korean army has declared its readiness to launch a missile attack on the U.S. air base on the island of GUAM. In response, trump said that the United States is ready to eliminate the threat from the DPRK by military force. He noted that American soldiers have completed training and are ready to respond immediately in the case that the DPRK will make a foolish step.
The UN Security Council on 5 August unanimously adopted a new package of sanctions against North Korea in response to country conducted a nuclear test. Member countries of the UN is prohibited to import from the DPRK of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, and seafood. The sanctions also touched upon joint ventures of the DPRK with other countries. In addition, the UN security Council imposed sanctions against nine of North Korean citizens and four organizations, among which were the Bank for foreign trade of the DPRK.
