The head of the special division of the Metropolitan police service of the UK has accused Uber that hides the crimes of sexual or other nature, committed by taxi drivers against passengers. This publication reports The Sunday Times.
Inspector Neil Billany (Neil Billany) in his letter to the newspaper expressed concern about the fact that the company probably chooses which crimes should be reported to the police. According to him, Uber is trying to protect the reputation, telling only of small offences. The publication notes that the inspector has information about cases of violent acts of a sexual nature, violations of public order and other crimes.
Uber is an American multinational company from San Francisco, created in 2009, the eponymous mobile app to search, call and pay taxi or private drivers. Services are available in more than 76 countries and 596 cities around the world.
