State Duma Deputy Natalya Poklonskaya has accused officials of the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation in violation of the law on countering extremist activities. The corresponding statement she made at TV channel RBC.

Thus Poklonskaya responded to the decision to allow the rental on the territory of Russian film by Alexei Uchitel “Matilda”. The MP noted that the above decision of the Ministry of culture her “not surprised”.

“Now prosecutors have a great opportunity to involve officials of the Ministry of culture for violation of the law on countering extremist activities”, — she stated.

Poklonskaya also on the air of RBC said Alexei Uchitel and Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky allegedly banned the screening of “Matilda” to the experts as they could find in the picture the points that “discredit the story, insult the religious feelings and desecrate Orthodox shrines”.

The premiere of the film “Matilda”, a story about the relationship of the future Emperor of Russia Nicholas II and the ballerina Matilda Kschessinska, will take place on 6 October at the Mariinsky theatre.
