MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. The date for the next round of talks in Astana depend on the willingness of the government and the opposition, hoping to hold it until the end of August continues. This was stated on Thursday, TASS, the Russian President’s special envoy on the Middle East and Africa, Deputy foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, answering the question whether there is clarity in the dates of the meeting after consultation of the countries-guarantors in Tehran on August 8-9.

“It depends not only on the three guarantors [of Russia, Iran and Turkey], and the readiness of the Syrian parties — I mean the SAR government and the armed opposition, which joined our agreements on the cessation of hostilities, he said. So we need to expect more from them.”

Answering the question, will there be a meeting before the end of August, as planned in the previous round of talks, Bogdanov said he was looking forward to it, but to talk about specific dates yet. “I think now [the time] will be determined in contacts with the Syrian parties, because they first of all must respect and implement the decisions,” added the diplomat.
