The interior Ministry of Russia intends to reduce the period of processing and issuing passports to citizens of the country. A notification published on the Federal portal of projects of normative legal acts.
Changes will be made to article 10 of the Federal law “On the procedure for exit from Russian Federation and entry into the Russian Federation”. It is noted that this is due to the current long delays in obtaining documents.
Under current law, the deadline for issuance of the passport should not exceed one month in the case of an application for a residence and four in the treatment area.
In June the government Commission on legislative activities endorsed the proposal of the Ministry of interior to increase the state duty for registration of biometric passports from 3.5 to five thousand rubles for adults and from 1.5 to 2.5 thousand rubles for children.
