Pushkov recalled Poland’s partition of Czechoslovakia in response to the accusations against Russia
The Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on information policy, Alexei Pushkov commented on the words of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski that the Soviet Union shared with Nazi Germany responsible for the outbreak of the Second world war.

On the eve Waszczykowski in an interview with Wpolityce stated that the USSR together with Germany attacked Poland, thereby “greatly helped” the beginning of world war II. According to him, during the liberation of Poland, the Soviet Union pursued only their own interests. The Minister has responded to the statement by the Russian Ambassador Sergey Andreev that Poland should maintain the monuments to Soviet soldiers in gratitude for deliverance from the Nazis.
In mid-July the President of Poland Andrzej Duda signed a law on demolition of Soviet monuments in the country, it will enter into force three months later. The law on decommunization will affect about 230 monuments of the red army. The Russian foreign Ministry the decision of the Polish authorities called outrageous provocation and vowed not to leave it without consequences.
In late July, the Polish Institute of national remembrance (IPN) said that the recently published Ministry of defence documents about the liberation by the red army in Poland falsifiziert history. According to the Institute, publication of the Ministry of defense is propaganda designed to prove that the poles believed the red army soldiers exclusively liberators. This thesis IPN calls biased, the documents are specially selected and taken out of context, and comments — biased.
