Zasursky noted that waiting for treatment from Sokolov or his lawyer.

Earlier on August 10, the Tver court of Moscow has sentenced Sokolov to 3.5 years in a penal colony, finding him guilty of organizing an extremist organization. With him in this case was sentenced three more people.

Sokolov has been in custody since the summer of 2015. According to the investigation, he together with his colleagues organized an Initiative group for the referendum “For responsible government” (igpr “ZOV”), a name which continued to exist banned in Russia organization “army of the will of the people.” Its purpose, according to investigators, was to undermine “the political situation in the direction of instability and change existing power illegally”.

The journalists wrote in support of Sokolova collective letter, signed by 282 people. Center “memorial” has recognized him as a political prisoner.
