The foreign Ministers of Russia and Thailand to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation

TASS, 8 Aug. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov during a working visit to Bangkok on August 9-10, will hold talks with the foreign Minister of Thailand, Don Pramudwinai and a meeting with the Prime Minister Prutom Chan-Ochoa and discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation. This was reported on Tuesday in the Russian dipvedomstva.

As have informed in the Ministry, Lavrov is also scheduled “visit to the Royal Palace, where the Minister will make an entry in the book of condolences in connection with demise in October 2016, king Bhumibol Adulyadej”.

As noted in the foreign Ministry, now the bilateral cooperation between Russia and Thailand moving forward: strengthening political dialogue, expanding contacts between our legislative bodies, ministries and departments. “The focus of attention of the parties is the task of deepening economic and investment cooperation, said the foreign Ministry. On the upcoming talks between the foreign Ministers is planned in detail to consider the state and prospects of deepening cooperation in various areas, and also to compare positions on pressing international and regional issues.”

“During my stay in Bangkok is also planned the presentation of departmental awards of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia, the honorary Consul of Russia in Pattaya and Phuket, for great personal contribution to safeguarding the rights and interests of Russian citizens visiting Thailand or living in this country,” — said the Russian foreign Ministry.
