Alexey Uchitel will nominate the movie “Matilda” for the award “Oscar”
Director Alexei Uchitel has said that he wants “to participate in the Oscar race” along with a picture of “Matilda” in the category “Best foreign language film”. This is the Agency TASS.
For seeking an award ribbon needs to get in the car until 1 October. That is why the film was released in limited release.
“We have already staged preliminary exhibitions in Moscow and St. Petersburg in September will be demonstrations in Vladivostok. First of all, this practice is useful before a big hire because it allows to know the opinion of people. In addition, limited rental will comply with all formalities to qualify films for nomination from Russia for the award “Oscar”, — said the Director.
By 1 October the Russian Oscar Committee, headed by Chairman Vladimir Menshov should nominate a picture to compete for awards from Russia. The official premiere of “Matilda” is scheduled for October 6, the show will be held at the Mariinsky theatre.
