Member of the U.S. Senate believes that the policy of isolating the DPRK is not working

WASHINGTON, August 9. /TASS/. The United States should immediately start negotiations with the DPRK at a high level, the policy of isolating Pyongyang has not worked.

About it to journalists on Tuesday said the Senator-a Democrat, a member of the ad hoc Committee of the upper house of Congress on intelligence, Diane Feinstein.

“The isolation of North Koreans have forced them to abandon the desire to obtain nuclear weapons. And the President [of the USA Donald] trump their high-flown statements is not conducive to remedying the situation”, — the politician noted. According to her, “there is no doubt” that North Korean specialists are now looking for a way to install a nuclear warhead on an Intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States.

“Which suggests to me that our policy of isolating North Korea has not worked. The United States must begin to dialogue with North Korea at a high level without any preconditions. I hope the Secretary of state [Rex] Tillerson is already discussing the possibility of resuming negotiations with our Asian partners during his current visit [to the region]. In my opinion, diplomacy is the only way forward,” said Feinstein.
