Lavrov called for a sensible approach to the problem of the DPRK

Moscow counts on development of consensual decisions on the DPRK at a prudent approach by all players, including USA, South Korea and Japan. On Tuesday, August 8, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, reports RIA Novosti.

“North Korea has made a strong statement that rejects a UN security Council resolution, said it was unfair. But the DPRK representatives also responded to all the previous resolutions. We will still be judged by concrete steps”, — continued the head of Russian diplomacy.

Lavrov added that Moscow is committed to the resumption of the political process, particularly the six-party talks, adding that Russia “will continue the dialogue with our North Korean neighbors.”

Earlier, on 8 August, North Korea threatened “physical action” in response to the adoption by the UN Security Council in respect of new sanctions. The resolution in Pyongyang called a “terrorist act” that undermines the country’s sovereignty.

On 5 August the UN security Council in response to the launch of DPRK’s ballistic missiles “And 14” adopted a resolution toughening sanctions against Pyongyang. Now North Korea is prohibited from exporting coal, iron, lead, and seafood. Accounts of the Bank for foreign trade of the DPRK frozen North Korean vessels that violated UN resolutions, denied entry to the ports of all States.
