Former Vice-President of Russia became a candidate in the Federation Council from the Novgorod region

Candidate for Governor of the Novgorod region from LDPR Anton Morozov has made changes in the list of candidates for the post of Senator, which he had previously granted to the regional electoral Commission. It is reported by TASS on Tuesday, August 8.

“Previously included in a list of Andrey Danilov replaced by Alexander Rutskoi. The Commission has documented these changes,” — said the Chairman of the regional election Commission Tatyana Lebedeva.

As he wrote in social networks Morozov himself, Rutskoi is ready for active work in the region, said the Agency.

On August 3, the election Committee of the Novgorod region has finished registration of candidates on a post of the head region. In addition to Morozov, in the election race will involve four candidates: Andrew Walter (United Russia), Olga Efimova (CPRF), Mikhail Panov (“Fair Russia”) and Nikolai Zakharov (“Patriots of Russia”).

On 13 February the President of Russia Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the Governor of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin and appointed acting head of the region the head of the Agency for strategic initiatives (ASI) Andrey Nikitin.

Alexander Rutskoi in 1991-1993, he held the post of Vice-President of the Russian Federation. After the adoption of the Constitution in December 1993 the position was abolished.
