Authorities in Chicago have filed a lawsuit against the administration trump
Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel filed a lawsuit against the administration of U.S. President Donald trump because of threats to stop funding the “cities of refuge”, according to Reuters.
Authorities in Chicago believe the new requirements of the administration of the President unconstitutional.
“These new conditions confront the longstanding policy of the city, which promotes cooperation between local law enforcement and immigrants”, — is spoken in the statement of claim.
At the moment Chicago has the status of “cities of refuge”, that is, local officials are not allowed to seek immigrant status.
