Lavrov discussed with the foreign Minister of Turkey, the zone of de-escalation in Syria

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov discussed the situation in Syria with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu. On Sunday, August 6, the press service of the Russian Ministry of foreign Affairs.

The meeting was held in the Philippines capital Manila on the sidelines of the regional forum of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The Ministers discussed “the implementation of the Memorandum on the establishment of a de-escalation in Syria, the strengthening of the cessation of hostilities in that country and promote a political settlement process,” the statement reads. The Ministry said that Lavrov and Cavusoglu also reviewed certain issues of Russian-Turkish relations.

Earlier, on 6 August it became known that head the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia will be held in Manila negotiations with Minister of foreign Affairs of China Wang I.

The meeting of foreign Ministers of ASEAN countries held in the Philippines from 2 to 8 August.
