In Abkhazia said about a “powerful wave of failures tourists” from travelling
About 50% of the tourists refused to travel to Abkhazia after the bombings in the seaside. Recession can last for several weeks. Earlier on reduced demand for travel to Abkhazia has complained about the Russian tour operators.
In Abkhazia there is a “powerful wave of failures tourists” because of explosions at an ammunition depot in the seaside, the President said “the Abkhaz Union of tourism” Anna Kalyagin. About it reports “RIA Novosti”.
According to her, during the bombings, “all called, asked what was going on”, and when “they learned that there are explosions — turn and left.” Kalyagin said that refuse from trips mainly those who have not yet arrived in the country. “Few” of those who went with the rest, she added.
Clients do not waive the September tours. Kalyagin suggested that the recession will last about two weeks.
She remembered the story of the murder on 11 July in seaside of Russian Andrey Kabanov during a robbery, who attacked him two local residents were arrested, but within two weeks was “silence”. “[Then] 50% refused, and now — silence, 50% refused. I have even stopped advertising [travel — RBC], because it makes no sense,” — said Kalyagin.
