IRKUTSK, Aug 3 – RIA Novosti. Ferry crossing to the Olkhon island to Irkutsk region operates normally, waiting in line is no more than an hour, told RIA Novosti the head of administration of municipal formation Khuzhirskiy Faith Malanov.
Earlier it was reported that from-for breakages of the ferry “Simon Batagaev” on lake Baikal ferry from Olkhon island worked in an emergency mode. The two remaining ferries could not cope with the traffic. Shore has accumulated hundreds of tourists and thousands of cars. The waiting time was delayed to a day or more. Ferry “Simon Batagaev” repaired and launched on 2 August.
“The work is organized in the normal mode, every 15 minutes from one Bank to another goes one of the ferries. On the shore side of the island are 70 cars and about 50 tourists who were brought by buses. When you consider that every 15 minutes to a shore fit one of the ferries that waiting is less than an hour”, — told RIA Novosti the head of the municipality Khuzhirskiy Faith Malanov.
She also added that the extraordinary situation caused by the failure, attracted attention to the problem, which to ol is typical. For example, in a storm, when the ferries don’t work, people can queue up for longer than a day.
