The United States launched the process of leaving the Paris climate agreement

MOSCOW, Aug 5 — RIA Novosti. The state Department has officially notified the UN of its intention to withdraw from the Paris agreement to combat global climate change. The process of withdrawal will take three years.

The American foreign Ministry noted that the US is “open to again to join the agreement,” but this will happen only if “will be created more favorable conditions for business people, workers and taxpayers.”

Thus, leaving the process of combating climate change, the US “will continue work on reduction of greenhouse gases through the introduction of innovations and improvement of technology.” Washington and is open for cooperation with other countries: in particular, America can provide them with fossil fuels, and help more clean and effective way to implement renewable and clean sources of energy, said in a statement the state Department.

The official representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarric confirmed that the head of the Organization Antonio Guterres received notice from the American side.

Dujarric also said that the 29th article of the Paris agreement allows participant to leave at any time three years after the entry of the transaction into force.
