The Russian Embassy in the UK issued a warning to the citizens of Russia in connection with the become frequent cases of attacks on passers-by using acid. This was reported on the website of the diplomatic mission.
“We call on Russian citizens to be extremely careful in British cities and especially in London, do not walk close to the roadway, not to approach unknown vehicles, avoid close approaching people on mopeds and motorcycles, be careful on the streets at walks,” said the Embassy.
In 2017, the police recorded 144 such cases. Law enforcement officers are unable to detain the attackers, more than a third of the attacks. Only in London was committed 455 of such crimes. Most often the attackers are attacking the outskirts of towns, but in crowded places also attacks occur.
