The ban for Americans to travel to the DPRK will come into effect from 1 September

Moscow. August 3. INTERFAX.RU — the US state Department has announced that from September 1 shall enter into force a ban for holders of American passports for travel to North Korea, and demanded of all American citizens to leave North Korea to this date.

“Persons who are currently in North Korea for a us passport, have to leave it up to the entry into force of the ban on travel to that country — until September 1, 2017”, — stated in the message of Department.

The ban will be in effect during the year.

The decision was taken after the death of the student, Otto Warmbier, who fell ill while serving his sentence in a North Korean prison, and after that in a coma was sent home, where he died soon after returning.

The reason for the arrest and conviction of the student was the attempt to export from the DPRK political poster.
