TFR opened a criminal case on mass poisoning at a festival in Buryatia

The investigative Committee (SKR) has opened a criminal case in connection with a mass poisoning at a dance festival in Buryatia. This is stated in the message on the website of the regional Department of the Ministry.

According to the latest data, as a result of poisoning suffered at least 72 people, including 60 minors.

Criminal case in connection with the incident was brought under part 1 of article 238 of the RF criminal code (rendering services not meeting requirements of safety of life and health of consumers). Previously tested in connection with the mass poisoning of tourists there began Prosecutor’s office of Buryatia.

The poisoning occurred on the Baikal festival of Dance Camp, which was held in the territory of one of the tourist centers in kazanskom district of the Republic. The festival was attended by tourists from different regions of the country. In the festival, in addition to adults, attended by about 300 children aged 12 to 17 years.

“August 2 in the afternoon 26 vacationing children and two adults came to the medical unit with complaints of abdominal pain, vomiting. During the day the number of tourists with similar symptoms increased to 72 and continues to grow”, — reported in the TFR. According to the preliminary version, the cause of mass poisoning have become substandard prepared in the dining room of the cottage products.
