Peskov: Russia concerned about the expansion of the Alliance to its borders

Russia respects the relations of neighbouring countries with the United States, but Moscow is concerned in cases when we are talking about the expansion of military infrastructure to its borders. The journalists said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the visit of Vice President of the United States Michael Pence in the Baltic countries and Georgia, with which Russia’s complex relationship.

According to Peskov, we are talking about sovereign countries, which build relations with other States at its discretion and “no problem here [to Russia]”.

“Such cooperation is a problem for us when it entails expanding alliances and military infrastructure of these alliances in the direction of our borders,” – said the representative of the Kremlin. “This is an issue of concern. Of course, we respect the relationship our neighboring States with the United States and other countries”, – concluded the press-Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
