Moscow and Tehran have discussed the creation of zones of de-escalation in Syria

Deputy foreign Minister of Russia and Iran Mikhail Bogdanov and Hossein Ansari discussed at the consultations in Moscow, the creation of zones of de-escalation in Syria. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“We discussed all these issues in detail in the framework of our work on the ground as guarantors of the cessation of hostilities in Syria,” — said Bogdanov.

In turn, Ansari announced that the next meeting of representatives of Russia, Iran and Turkey for the preparation of negotiations on Syria will be held in Astana next week in Tehran.

May 4, countries-guarantors of a ceasefire in Syria — Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a Memorandum on creation of four security zones in Syria. They will operate in the following regions: in the province of Idlib, in areas of Latakia, Aleppo and Hama; in the North of HOMS province; in Eastern ghouta, on the South of Syria — the provinces of Deraa and Quneitra. Also, the results of the Russian-American summit in Hamburg announced the creation of a zone of de-escalation in the area of Deraa, Quneitra and es-Sweida.
