The Minister of justice of Georgia tea Tsulukiani expressed the opinion that as soon as the former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili will return to Ukraine, the authorities will begin the process to extradite him at the request of Tbilisi. She declared it on air of TV channel “Imedi”, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“The Ukrainian side then in April 2015, said that we can not extradite Mikheil Saakashvili (…). Apparently today they have changed position. As soon as Saakashvili will return to Ukraine, Kiev will be able to start the extradition process,” said Tsulukiani.

July 29, Saakashvili said that the signature on the social networks questionnaire for obtaining Ukrainian didn’t belong to him. “I looked for a copy of the questionnaire on the basis of which the President (the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko — approx. “Of the tape.ru”) stripped me of citizenship. So, I responsibly claim that this is not my signature and I have not filled in the questionnaire!” — said the former Governor of the Odessa region.

Three days earlier the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergey Leshenko suggested that Saakashvili will not be able to return to Ukraine from the United States, as it will be arrested and extradited to Georgia.

Also on 26 July Poroshenko signed a decree on depriving Saakashvili of the Ukrainian citizenship. According to the migration service, the decision was made due to the fact that a politician stated in the questionnaire about the data.

On 24 July the Ukrainian President during visit to Tbilisi said that Kyiv is ready to discuss with Tbilisi the extradition of Saakashvili, if the Georgian side will be the relevant evidence.
