Due to the Russian sanctions, Washington will have to withdraw hundreds of its employees of American diplomatic missions in Russia. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to an informed source.
The interlocutor of the edition emphasized that we are not talking about tens and hundreds of diplomatic and technical staff.
Earlier, Russia has imposed on U.S. diplomats, the sanctions prohibiting them to use the cottage in the Silver forest and all storage facilities on Road street in Moscow. In addition, Moscow has demanded from Washington to September 1 to reduce the number of American diplomats in Russia. The foreign Ministry said that the United States should lead the number of its diplomats in the Russian Federation “in precise correspondence with the number of Russian diplomats and technical staff who are in the United States.” Thus, the number of employees of the diplomatic mission of the USA should be reduced to 455.
These measures were a response to approved by the US Congress bill on new sanctions against Russia. The Russian foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow “reserves the right, in order of reciprocity and on other measures that may affect the interests of the United States”.
The original version of the bill on new US sanctions against Russia was approved by the Senate on June 15, however, further promotion of the document has stopped in the house of representatives. That the States are preparing a new version of the bill, it became known on July 22.
