Moscow, taking the decision to reduce the staff of the American diplomatic missions in Russia in response to the new sanctions Washington, acted within international law. Such statement on Friday, July 28, was made by the Deputy of the state Duma Sergei Zheleznyak, the TV channel “Russia 24”, the record of which is published on the website Вести.Ru.

Under the reduction, according to his calculations, are about 700 diplomatic staff of the United States. “This, of course, very sensitive. And for American diplomacy and American intelligence agencies, and for representatives of the American depslib, who were engaged in the supervision of the private sector in Russia and is trying to promote his vision of democracy”, — stated the Deputy.

He stressed that Moscow could resort to these measures at the end of last year, when the outgoing administration of US President Barack Obama declared persona non grata 35 Russian diplomats and closed the Russian depravation access to two residential complexes.

At the same time RIA Novosti with reference to the source reports that the United States will lose up to 300 staff of its diplomatic missions.

Earlier Friday, the Russian foreign Ministry urged Washington until September 1 to bring the number of diplomats and diplomatic missions in mechanics of the Russian Federation in accordance with the number of employees of the Russian diplomatic missions in the United States. This means that the total number of personnel involved in the American diplomatic and consular institutions in the Russian Federation will be reduced to 455.

Also from 1 August suspended the use of the U.S. Embassy’s dacha in Serebryany Bor and all storage areas on a Traffic street in Moscow.

The United States Senate adopted the document on restrictions against Russia, Iran and North Korea on July 28. It was approved by 98 senators, two opposed. It will now be sent for signature to the American leader is Donald Trump.
