The state Duma proposed to oblige state agencies to have accounts in social networks

The expert Council of journalists and bloggers in the Youth Parliament of the state Duma proposed to oblige public authorities to have pages on social networks. It is reported by RT on Thursday, July 27.

“To communicate citizens with the power of will and through comments in the official account. The obligation to respond to such comments can be written in the amendments to the Federal law No. 55 “On applications of citizens”. However, the period of such a response must be adequate and not be 30 days as mandated now,” said the Chairman of the Board Ilya Zotov.

In addition, according to the authors of the initiative, agencies should be required to post in social networks contact information, including email address to which users will be able to guide treatment. Also, officials will have to add to the pages of information on introduced bills for public discussion.

The relevant amendments to the law on securing access to information will be discussed at the Council meeting on July 28.

On 28 April, the Chairman of the Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications Leonid Levin suggested that social networks are the most relevant tool for disseminating information on the activities of the state Duma. He stressed that this approach provides a direct dialogue with the voter.

The state Duma has launched official accounts in VK, Instagram, Odnoklassniki, Twitter, Facebook and Telegram 27 APR. At the same time next day the lower house of Parliament refused to the channel in the Telegram.

Many Russian politicians have accounts in social networks. The most popular among them is the blog of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.

The youth Parliament established in 2001. Its main objective is to promote activities of the state Duma in the field of legislative regulation of the rights and legitimate interests of young people.
