WA, 26 Jul — RIA Novosti, Alexei Bogdanovsky. Statement on the shelling of the Russian Embassy in Damascus is blocked in the UN security Council, said in a press release, the permanent mission of Russia to international organizations.
“The Russian permanent mission to the UN circulated among UN security Council members a short draft press statement condemning the attack, based on the standard wording of the fight against terrorism and the immunity of diplomatic missions. Unfortunately I must inform you that some members of the Security Council once again refused to consider the Russian project under the false pretext of lack of evidence of the terrorist nature of the attack,” — said in a statement.
It is noted that the partners in the UN security Council proposed to remove from the draft statement of all the important provisions, stated in the permanent mission, and the Russian delegation considered it useless further work on the document.
