The ECHR awarded 6 thousand euros for one of the defendants in the murder of Nemtsov

The European court of human rights (ECHR) decided to pay six thousand euros in compensation to the Boy Eskerhanova, convicted for the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov. Relevant information contains on the website of the court.

In the case against Russia, which was considered by the ECHR, there were three filed in 2016 complaints eskerhanova, and received the sentence for the same crime Anzor and Shadid Hubarevich. They, in particular, complained about their conditions of detention and duration of detention on remand.

Claims Hubarevich, the court dismissed because it disclosed the content of the talks about pre-trial settlement between the brothers and the Russian authorities.

Eskerhanova complaint was granted in part: the ECHR found that there had been a violation of article 3 of the Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, concerning the conditions of detention and transportation. Also, the court saw a violation that grounds for detention eskerhanova was not promptly revised.

In December 2016, “Kommersant” wrote that the Deputy Minister of justice of Russia Georgy Matyushkin and the ECHR has entered into an agreement to pre-trial settlement, in which Eskerhanova paid six thousand euros, and he withdraws the complaint. In January 2017, it became known that the European court of human rights has offered Russia in the pretrial order to pay Gubashev 13 thousand euros.

13 July of current year the Moscow district military court sentenced Zaur Dadaev — the executor of the murder — sentence of 20 years imprisonment. Partners were given terms ranging from 11 to 19 years. The jury found all five defendants guilty in the murder for hire.
