Paris confirmed the date of the phone conversation in “channel format”
PARIS, 22 Aug — RIA Novosti. French authorities confirmed the telephone conversations of leaders of the Normandy format (France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine) on July 24, said in a communique of the Elysee Palace.
“11.00 (12.00 MSK) — a phone conversation in the Normandy format with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel” — is listed in the schedule of the President of France Emmanuel Makron.
Poroshenko in early July stated that a telephone conversation between the leaders of the Normandy format is expected in July. After that on 19 July the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that a telephone conversation between the leaders of “Norman Quartet” may take place in the period from 24 to 30 July. And on Friday, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the talks will be held on July 24.
