The ECHR declared inadmissible two complaints against Russia

The European court of human rights (ECHR) in 2016 declared inadmissible or rejected than 6.3 thousands of complaints against Russia. This is stated in the overview help for the court, says RAPSI.

Over the last year, the ECHR examined about seven thousand cases. For 645 of them made decisions 228, 222 of which has at least one violation of the European Convention on human rights.

In December 2015, the constitutional court (CC) of Russia received the right to determine whether to execute the verdicts of interstate bodies on protection of the rights and freedoms of the individual. The corresponding Federal constitutional law was signed by President Vladimir Putin. First and foremost we are talking about the priority of the verdicts the COP on the decisions of the ECHR.

Russia in February, 1996 signed the European Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as a number of protocols. By ratifying these agreements, it recognized the jurisdiction of the ECHR and pledged to fulfill its decisions. The relevant provisions were subsequently introduced in a number of laws and codes that did the ECtHR judgments the basis for revising earlier judgments.
