MOSCOW, July 21. /TASS/. The approval of the head of the CIA Michael Pompeo that Russia allegedly interfered in U.S. elections for over eight years, moving to the edge of reason. This was stated Friday by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov.

“If it is alleged that we interfered in the us elections in 2008 and 2012, it means that President Barack Obama owes us their victories, – said Lavrov. – I leave this without a comment, in my opinion, it goes beyond the edge of reason”.

The FBI is investigating allegations of alleged attempts by the Russian government to influence the presidential elections in 2016, as well as related issues. In parallel proceedings on this subject are the special Committee on intelligence of the Senate and house of representatives of the Congress of the United States. In mid-may, the U.S. justice Department announced the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller special Prosecutor to investigate the case on attributed to RF interference in elections.

The President of the United States Donald trump and his key aides repeatedly rejected suspicions of any improper contacts with Russian officials during the period of the last year’s election campaign. Moscow also denied allegations of attempts to influence the presidential elections in the United States.
