The attitude of the President of the United States Donald trump to the Russian leadership has caused the differences between him and national security adviser Herbert McMaster, as well as other senior assistants. It is reported Associated Press with reference to a number of American officials.
The Agency notes that the reason for this was the conversation between the White house and Russian leader Vladimir Putin that took place a few hours after the official bilateral meeting at the summit “Big twenty”.
“This was a red flag for advisers who already were concerned about the tendency of the President to break Protocol and to promote our theme,” the Associated Press reports.
It is noted that trump is focused on cooperation with Moscow on a number of issues, including Syria.
According to the source, McMaster during a trip to Germany told some colleagues about their disagreement with the decision of the President of the United States to accept Russian diplomats in may of this year in the White house.
The national security Advisor was not present at the bilateral meeting the leaders.
Vladimir Putin and Donald trump for the first time held talks on the first day of the G20 summit, July 7, in Hamburg. They lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes — twice as long as planned on the Russian side. After a few hours the leaders had an informal conversation over lunch. According to the President of the United States, the heads of state discussed the issue of adoption of Russian orphans by American families.
