Nominated for the post of U.S. Ambassador to Russia John huntsman is a seasoned diplomat, his future work in Russia still to be assessed, told reporters the Federation Council speaker Valentina Matvienko.
“He is an experienced diplomat. He has extensive experience of diplomatic service. This is good,” — said Matvienko.
The speaker of the upper house as a former diplomat stressed that the main task of the Ambassador is to establish relationships with countries.
“So to label only assigned to the US Ambassador in Russia, I think is premature. Let’s be the judge”, — concluded the speaker of the Federation Council.
The US President Donald trump has nominated as Ambassador to Russia and former Governor of Utah John Huntsman, who previously was U.S. Ambassador to China.
