The United States expanded sanctions against Iran

The US imposed sanctions against 18 more Iranian companies and individuals involved in the missile program of the Islamic Republic. This is stated in a message posted on the Department’s website.

In the sanctions list were three companies that contributed to the production technologies and the development of ballistic missiles. Seven organizations and eight individuals fall under the restrictions for the organization of procurement for the needs of the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps (IRGC).

As indicated in the document, Washington remains deeply concerned about the actions of Tehran in the middle East that undermine regional stability and security. “Iran continues to support terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas and the “Palestinian Islamic Jihad” that threatens Israel and stability in the region, has consistently supported the regime of [Syrian President Bashar] Assad, despite the atrocities against his own people”, — stated in the message.

Earlier on July 18, senior us administration said that Iran fulfils the terms of the nuclear agreement with world powers, but violates the spirit of these agreements. One of the officials explained that the President of the United States Donald trump and Secretary of state Rex Tillerson suggested that Iran “remains one of the most dangerous threats to U.S. interests and regional stability.”

Iran and the six international mediators (USA, Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany) in mid-July 2015 reached agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program and signed a Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD). The Islamic Republic pledged to restrict work in the field of uranium enrichment in exchange for lifting some sanctions.
