Scientists note that it is possible to show the celestial bodies from closer distance than in fact they were flying the spacecraft.

The researchers also presented the latest maps of the surfaces of Pluto and Charon.

Station New Horizons on 14 July 2015 flew at a minimum distance past Pluto.

The main objective of the mission was to study the dwarf planet and its satellite Charon.

It is expected that in 2019, the plant will reach the planetoid 2014 MU69 located at a distance of 1.6 billion kilometers from the dwarf planet in the Kuiper belt. The diameter of the asteroid is estimated at 45 kilometres.
