Died Director of “Night of the living dead” George Romero
One Director reported that he died after “a short but aggressive fight against lung cancer.”
WASHINGTON, July 17. /TASS/. Directed a series of films about the living dead, including “Night of the living dead” (1968), George Romero has died on 78-m to year of life.
According to the newspaper Los Angeles Times, citing partner Romero, he died on Sunday after “a short but aggressive fight against lung cancer.”
It is noted that the Director died while listening to the soundtrack to one of his favorite movies “the Quiet man” (1952) at home. With him was his wife Susannah île Desroches Romero and daughter Tina. Other details of the edition does not.
In 1968 Romero made the first film in the series of pictures about a zombie Apocalypse “night of the living dead” which made a revolution in the genre of horror films, but also determined the direction of zombie movies. Subsequently, the Director made a few sequels to this picture, as well as a number of prominent movies in the horror genre.
