Republicans rejected nine amendments in Russia, the project of the U.S. defence budget

The Republican-controlled Committee on rules, house of representatives, U.S. Congress rejected nine amendments of the Democrats concerning Russia, the project of the defence budget to 2018, which begins on October 1. This is stated in a Thursday statement, the Director of communications of Democrats of the house Committee on the Armed forces of the Barron of Langsmith, reports TASS.

According to Langsmith rejected amendments “contain many good ideas, which could help to protect our country from Russian interference and to resist the Russian campaign of influence” in the United States. The representative of the Democrats said that was approved for further debate and a vote, only four amendments, which in fact is already performed by the U.S. Department of defense. “None of them address the wider strategic goals of Russia”, — he concluded.

In particular, were rejected by the initiative of the National center of response to the Russian threat, control the “illegal financial activities of Russia in Europe”, reports on “subversive activities of Russian Federation” on the restriction of the exchange of information on cyber security with Russia, to ban funding for joint activities in the field of cybersecurity.

However, there were approved amendments to the report to Congress on the Russian-Serbian relations in the security field, updates the strategy of the Pentagon in the field of cybersecurity, training US troops means “to resist Russian propaganda and disinformation”, and grants the lawmakers the report on “all in the past 24 months the attempts of the Russian Federation or supported by the Russian Federation constituent entities to attack the Ministry of defense of the United States.”
