Maduro raised the salary of the Venezuelan security forces in the midst of the protests

MEXICO city, 15 Nov — RIA Novosti. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Friday sharply raised the salaries of officials of the national Bolivarian guard and the corps of criminal and forensic investigation police of the country in the midst of anti-government protests.

According to Maduro signed the decree, their salaries increase by 85%, according to the state television of the country.

For these purposes from the budget allocated additional funds in the total amount of 261 billion bolivars (almost $ 100 million at the official rate). Another 4.4 billion bolivars ($1.6 million) are directed to the completion of the offices of the forensic police in the States of anzoátegui, táchira and Lara.

In Venezuela since early April, are mass protests after the Supreme court’s decision to severely limit the power of the National Assembly. The decision was reversed, but opposition supporters took to the streets demanding the resignation of the members of the court, and hold early elections. Now they are protesting against the convocation of the constituent Assembly, considering it an attempt to change the Constitution. According to recent reports, during the protests has killed more than 90 people.
