The Ministry of defence published unique documents on the Georgian-Ossetian conflict

MOSCOW, 14 Jul — RIA Novosti. The defense Ministry on its official website published unique documents relating to the settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict of 1991 to 1993, the Department of information and mass communications of the Russian defense Ministry.

Publication is timed to the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the first in the history of the Russian armed forces peacekeeping operations. The project was prepared jointly with the Central archive of the Ministry of emergency situations of Russia.

Among the documents — memoranda, operational reports, certificates, protocols of the meetings of the commissions and correspondence of officials.

So, for example, the site published the government decree on assistance to refugees in North Ossetia, the order of the Vice-President of the Commission for the study of the situation in the conflict zone, copies of the first report on the work of the joint control Commission and so on.

“Special historical value is a memo of a group of deputies of the Russian Federation, prepared on the basis of their visits to North and South Ossetia to review the results of the settlement of the conflict. The document was signed in August 1992 by people’s deputies M. Arutyunov, Linkovi, V. Sansom”, — noted in the defense Ministry.
