The Ministry of defense and the Ministry of education is planning to enter Russian universities, military courses, which allow students to be trained in military specialties outside the army. Write about this “Izvestia”, citing a bill on this idea.
Now in civilian universities, military training through military training centers and military departments, which train officers. Under the new bill, legislation proposed to remove the term “military Department” and “military training center” and replace them with the concept of “military training center”.
After finishing the courses in this center, students will receive military specialty privates or sergeants. The defense Ministry said that the graduates will be able to decide what to do after the course: to develop professional career in army under the contract or to go to active reserve.
Rector of the Moscow Institute of physics and technology (MIPT) Nikolay Kudryavtsev praised the new bill. “A lot of guys would like to link their fate with the army in various guises. Someone is willing to serve, and someone wants to engage in scientific developments. There is a new option that may be of interest to applicants”, – he explained.
Reservists are likely to call for special fees once a year.
