During an attack on a resort in Egypt, killing two citizens of Ukraine
In one of the hotels of Egypt unknown in a knife attack on tourists. Among victims — two citizens of Ukraine, there are victims.
Two Ukrainian citizens were killed in an armed attack on one of the Egyptian resorts, according to Reuters, citing sources in the security services and the interior Ministry of Egypt. Another four people were injured.
The attack occurred in the resort town of Hurghada. The motives of the assailant are not yet known. According to the interior Ministry, presumably, the attacker got on the hotel grounds, sailed from the nearby public beach.
The Egyptian Elbalad portal with reference to its sources in the security services reports that among victims — three citizens of Serbia, as well as a Polish or Ukrainian citizen. Sources of the portal also said that the attacker was detained, it was not. The attacker himself said during the arrest that he had lost them in the sea. The hotel area cordoned off after the attack.
The duty of the General Consulate of Russia in Alexandria (Egypt) was not able to quickly comment on the information about the attack at the hotel.
Director of the Association “Turpomosch” Oleksandr Osaulenko told RBC that among the victims in Egypt, the attack of the Russians there. “There are no Russians, no organised groups or individual tourists. In this situation, the Russian citizens have not suffered”, — said Osaulenko.
