The state Duma Committee agreed to facilitate acquisition of citizenship for Ukrainians

The state Duma Committee on state construction and legislation supported amendments that would allow Ukrainians to join the Russian citizenship without confirmation of refusal from the Ukrainian from Kiev. It is reported by TASS on Tuesday, July 11.

Under current law, to receive Russian passports, the person must provide a certificate from the relevant agencies of the state, from the citizenship which he refused. To obtain such a document from the Ukrainian authorities “almost impossible,” said the Chairman of the Committee Pavel Krasheninnikov.

“The following schedule is proposed: citizens write a paper in which they indicate that they refuse the citizenship of Ukraine, the document must be notarized. One copy remains in the migration service of the Russian Federation, the other notary sent to Ukraine”, — explained the mechanism of the MP.

He confirmed that the relevant amendments be made to the bill to revoke citizenship from persons convicted of terrorism. The lower house of Parliament will consider in second reading in plenary meeting on Wednesday, July 12.

Another amendment in the draft law to revoke citizenship announced on the eve of the Chairman of the Duma Committee for security and combating corruption of Natalia Polonskaya. She expressed the view that “this rule waiting for thousands of people.” On the same day, “Kommersant” wrote that we are talking about the procedure of “public dissociation” from the Ukrainian citizenship.
