Frigate “Admiral Grigorovich” has returned to Sevastopol from the Mediterranean sea

MOSCOW, July 12. /TASS/. Black sea fleet frigate “Admiral Grigorovich” has returned to Sevastopol from the Mediterranean sea. This was reported on Wednesday to journalists in a press-service of the fleet.

“The crew of black sea fleet frigate “Admiral Grigorovich” has completed the tasks on the standing group of the Navy in the Mediterranean sea and arrived in Sevastopol. The total duration of the cruise ship was more than four months,” – said the press service.

“Grigorovich” consisting of the permanent link was replaced with a new same type of black sea fleet frigate “Admiral Essen”, which is from July 10th began to perform tasks in the Mediterranean sea.

At the end of June it became known that the frigate “Admiral Essen”, “Admiral Grigorovich” and the submarine “Krasnodar” six cruise missiles “Caliber” destroyed in Syria’s large stocks of weapons and ammunition terrorists banned in Russia grouping “Islamic state”, striking from the Eastern part of the Mediterranean sea.

The Russian Navy began to perform tasks in the Mediterranean region on a permanent basis since December 2012. Commanded by Union captain 1st rank Pavel Yasnitsky. In the Mediterranean squadron consists of about 15 warships and support vessels of the black sea fleet.

“Admiral Grigorovich” frigate is the main sea area of the project 11356. Ships of this series have a displacement of about four thousand tons, their speed reaches 30 knots, endurance is 30 days. “Admiral Grigorovich” armed with cruise missiles “Caliber-NK” missile defense complex “Shtil-1” gun mount A-190 100 mm caliber, anti-aircraft artillery, jet bomb installation, torpedoes, and can carry carrier-based Ka-27 helicopter (or Ka-31).
