The Ministry of health has proposed a ban on product placement of alcohol in movies

The Ministry of health of Russia proposed to restrict product placement of alcohol in movies, TV shows, and printed materials. About this report “Izvestia” with reference to the second edition of the strategy of formation of healthy lifestyle of the population.

In particular, it is proposed to abandon the imitation of goods, when the product shown is not alcohol, but is associated with it, and to prohibit product placement. Also under the restriction, and subject to the mention of the quality of the drinks.

The project of strategy of formation of healthy lifestyle of the population appeared in the year 2017. Currently, the Ministry of health is discussing with experts and Federal authorities the second version of the document. It proposes, in particular, to specify on the bottle the maximum allowable daily dose of alcohol in milliliters, to prohibit Smoking VAPI and electronic cigarettes in public places, and restrict all forms of advertising of junk food, sweets and carbonated drinks.

In may, the Centre for national alcohol policy development (CMAP) has proposed to the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev to ban the demonstration of scenes of drinking alcohol on TV from 6 to 23 hours. However, the state Duma declared the impossibility of such a step. In the Center of researches Federal and regional alcohol markets also expressed the view that such an initiative is unlikely to be implemented. “We have a reflection of real life will dominate, it obshcheterapevtichesky principle”, — said the head of the organization Vadim Drobiz in an interview with National news service (NSN).

Under current law, in Russia, alcohol advertising is prohibited on the Internet and on TV. However, the domestic advertising of wine and champagne are allowed on radio and television between 23:00 and 07:00. In 2013, the state Duma deputies proposed to prohibit a movie scene with alcohol.
