Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Berlin is committing political suicide, and expressed confidence that in Germany there is no political freedom. So the head of state commented on the decision of the German authorities, denying him in the meeting with living in Germany Turks, reports on Saturday, July 8, RIA Novosti.

“When I say that Germany is committing political suicide, it is political suicide. It’s like a boomerang that will return to him who throws”, — said Erdogan, speaking at a press conference following the summit of “Big twenty” in Hamburg.

July 8, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that her talks with Erdogan on the sidelines of the G20 showed that between Ankara and Berlin, “there are deep differences”, reports TASS.

Erdogan, who arrived in Hamburg to attend the summit, planned to meet with Turks living in Germany. However, later foreign Minister of Germany Sigmar Gabriel stated that the request for the meeting does not meet the agenda of the event. He also stated the irrelevance of the campaign and resolve internal conflicts of other countries in Germany.

June 30, the official representative of the German foreign Ministry Martin Schaefer announced that the German government has banned foreign statesmen to conduct election campaign in the country.
