The talks between the U.S. and Russia Donald trump and Vladimir Putin in Hamburg lasted longer than planned, because none of them wanted to end the meeting. This was announced by the U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson, reports “Interfax”.

“This level of engagement and exchange that none of them wanted to stop” conversation, said the head of the state Department, commenting on the duration of negotiations which lasted over two hours instead of the planned 40 minutes.

“Between the two of them had a very clear positive understanding,” said Tillerson.

On Friday, July 7, on the sidelines of the summit of “Big twenty” in Hamburg Putin held a meeting with trump. “I had a very long conversation with the President of the United States. Have a lot of questions — there is Ukraine, Syria and other issues, some bilateral issues,” — said the Russian President at the end of the conversation.

Due to the fact that the talks between the leaders dragged on, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had to wait for the meeting with Putin for about an hour. The Russian President offered his apologies. Abe, for his part, said that refers to the incident with understanding.
