Turkish police detained the head of branch of Amnesty International

Turkish police detained the participants of the meeting of members of human rights organizations. About it reports Reuters.

The event, which discussed issues of exchange of information among human rights groups, held in one of the hotels on the island near Istanbul. Police stormed the room and arrested 12 people, including the head of the Turkish branch of Amnesty International Edile SR. Among the detainees are also seven members of human rights groups, two foreign instructors from Germany and Sweden — as well as the proprietor.

All the detainees were taken to the police station, what they suspect, not yet reported.

Amnesty International has repeatedly criticized the Turkish authorities. So, in April of 2016, she said that Ankara is contrary to the commitments sends refugees back to Syria, where they risk.
