Meeting of presidents of Russia and the USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump at the summit of “Big twenty” will allow to overcome some fundamental differences between the two countries. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky Thursday, July 6, reports “Interfax”.

“I think that on the sidelines of the meeting in Hamburg a divergence of views can be removed, and ideally, to bring them to a common constructive denominator,” said the MP.

On many international issues between Moscow and Washington there is no unity, stressed Slutsky. However, he believes that it is possible to hope for constructive negotiation process between the two leaders because it is in the interests of the world community.

Earlier Thursday, U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said that trump, in particular, intends to discuss at the meeting with Putin the situation in Syria. “The US and Russia certainly have disagreements on some issues, but there is also the potential for proper coordination in Syria,” — said in a statement released by the state Department appeal ahead of the G20.

Meeting of Russian and American leaders is scheduled for July 7, the first day of the G20 summit. The Kremlin hopes that the contact will be the first for Putin and trump, will help build a working dialogue, it is extremely necessary for the whole world “in terms of increasing the efficiency of a critical mass of conflicts and problems.”
