Representatives of the armed Syrian opposition take part in the second day of talks in Astana. This was stated by the head of the press service of the foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan Anuar of Jainakov, reports TASS.
“In particular, the representatives of the “Northern” and “southern” fronts”, he said.
It is expected that in the plenary session, which is scheduled for 16:00 (13:00 GMT), will be attended by all delegations, including the armed opposition and observers, RIA Novosti reported. “That will be taken at the meeting, as discussed at bilateral meetings,” — said Jainakov.
During the fifth round of talks on Syria, Russia, Iran and Turkey hold bilateral meetings. As RIA Novosti reported, perhaps the adoption of a number of documents, the key of which is agreement on areas of de-escalation.
The result of “Astana-4” was the signing of the three countries-guarantors — Russia, Turkey and Iran — Memorandum on the establishment of four security zones in Syria. They will be created in the following regions: in the province of Idlib, in areas of Latakia, Aleppo and Hama; in the North of HOMS province; in Eastern ghouta, on the South of Syria — the provinces of Deraa and Quneitra. There will be prohibited the use of weapons, in addition, to deliver humanitarian aid.
