Scientists in Peru with the help of 3D printing was able to restore the ancient face of a woman who, presumably, was a powerful political or religious leader.

Her remains were discovered in 2006 destroyed a clay pyramid near Trujillo.

The autopsy showed that the woman was about 20 years old when she died, probably from complications in childbirth or pregnancy. Her legs, feet and face were covered with tattoos of magical symbols — snakes and spiders.

The scientists were able to recreate the face of the Lady Cao, analyzing the structure of the skull and remains.

Lady Cao was buried with a crown, gold and copper products. The burial also found weapons, including two massive war clubs and 23 of the device for throwing spears.

Judging by the wealth of burial, she could be a priestess or even a political ruler.

Before the discovery of the remains of the Lady of Cao was believed that only men held high positions in the culture of the Urine.

As the Minister of culture of Peru El Salvador del solar, the woman had an oval face with high cheekbones — these traits can be found among many modern Peruvians.

“We are honored to present this strange combination of the future and the past: technology has allowed us to see the face of a political and religious leader of the culture of the past,” he said.
